Time flies by

Another week has quickly (and slowly) flown by. After a very work-filled week I am beyond excited for the weekend. This is the first weekend I have two full days off in a really long time!

This week I had some pretty great moments at work including getting involved in a new and exciting group that starts next week. Also, a project which is a bit like my baby has really started to take off.

Outside of work there was some more exhausted crap tv watching and watching Lina get creative with a photo project she's been working on. I also had a new experience on Thursday- I did my first boxing fitness class, which Bel and Ella have been trying to get me and Lina to go to for ages. Needless to say I'm in a lot of pain today, and the boxing gym was really smelly, but I'm really glad I went and did something active and new.

Looking forward I'm really excited for a women's events full weekend. Tomorrow is International women's day and I'll be volunteering at a fair in Brighton Dome for a few hours. Then the evening will bring our beautiful friends from London down to Brighton for what should be a really great night out!

I'll leave you with some foggy England photos from my journey home tonight.

How was your week? xBecky

A really great day

Yesterday was one of the first free days Lina and I have had off together for ages. We (somehow) woke up early and since the sun was shining we decided to go cycling together for the first time in 2014. We went on a route we've been on quite a few times but it was still beautiful. The path by the cliffs was covered in stones due to the crazy winds and storms lately so we didn't go too far on these for fear of a puncture and or falling over but got some good pictures nonetheless.
A good reminder of the beauty that we have so close to home!
Trying to capture our enjoyment mid-ride :)

Then we were able to use one of great birthday presents- a voucher for Afternoon tea at a great little place in Kemptown. This was our first proper English tea-time! The tea and food were both delicious and you practically had to roll us back into town. We spent a good 45 minutes on Asta's sofa recovering before we went on to our next plan.
We then went on to our friend, Sarah's craft club which we haven't been able to come to for ages. It was really nice to have a bit of quite time drawing, doing blackout poetry, coloring, and chatting. It was a lovely addition to already beautiful day!
We ended the day with homemade soup, Grey's Anatomy, and good conversation. It was a pretty perfect Saturday :)

February blur

The last few weeks have flown by in a haze of too much work, too much stress, a bit of sunshine, some glimpses of great friend times, and and some evenings in front of the tv because we couldn't cope with anything else.

I've been picking up extra shifts at my second job, covering shifts at a young peoples homeless hostel, in an attempt to save for upcoming travels and such. This unfortunately came about the same time as a pretty stressful time at work so I've been feeling a bit drained. But look at these blue skies between hail and rainbows :)

We did have a really lovely afternoon and evening with Bel and Ella just after valentines catching up, and a cozy valentines at home too!

We also helped Siga welcome in her 30th year with a bit of a crazy night at her place.

And went to the history museum to see the wildlife photography exhibition then sleepily headed back to Brighton.

I feel like I'm catching up a bit at work and have had my head in clouds planning our trip to NY for Katie's wedding (we booked our tickets!) and it's the weekend so things are looking up!

We're looking forward to our first proper tea time tomorrow (a lovely bday gift!) and doing a bit of creative catching up. Have a great weekend!

Dirty thirty birthday celebrations (a bit belated)

It's taken me awhile to get this post up because to be honest I found January to be a challenging month. I've now almost been 30 for a month! I had a pretty big roller coaster of emotions around leaving my 20s but having such amazing family and friends definitely helped :) I received so many lovely cards, gifts, and messages that I have to admit I was a bit tearful at times.

I was lucky enough to celebrate my birthday over most of the week with a day in London with dinner and drinks with our London Lithuanian friends :), drinks with my colleagues, dinner and drinks with Brighton friends, and a lazy Sunday with pancakes time on the beach. I've got plenty of pictures to remind me how wonderful it was!

Thanks to everyone for the lovely messages, cards, and gifts it definitely made entering my 30s infinitely easier :) Birthdays are good for reminding you how many great people you are surrounded with and how much you are loved <3 nbsp="" p="">

Northern Italy

Last week we spent time in Milan, Monza, and the Italian alps visiting our friends Urte, Linas, and their two little girls.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't too cooperative so it rained most of the days but we managed to get outside a bit

We went to an indoor water park which was a nice change to have some warmth! We loved being in a warm pool in the cold outside and Urte and Lina online tipped over out of the slides once :)

Lina, Urte, and the girls made homemade tortellini.

We spent a day driving up to the alps for some beautiful views and some small hikes.

We got a bit of time walking around a wet Milan. We got a big red umbrella for €2.65 which helped us both stay dry and improved our mood. Also fell in love with a bookshop in the beautiful shopping halls which had a sofa made of books :)

And had pizza at the new local pizzeria.

And spent some time playing as well :)

Thanks for the great trip guys!!!
